Rory's Storycubes: The story so far . . .

I recently met up with Rory O’Connor and Anita Murphy from Rory’s Storycubes to do a publicity shoot for their very addictive and eagerly anticipated Storycubes.  Here’s a little info from Rory himself on how the cubes came about:

“My journey goes back to 2004. I was practising Advanced Civilisation, a creative problem solving process recommended for discovering new inventions and processes. I was ‘introduced’, in my mind’s eye, to a new creative problem solving technique, the MetaCube – the earliest version of Rory’s Story Cubes. Based on the Rubik’s Cube, with icons instead of colours, the MetaCube opened the door to storytelling as a way to boost creative thinking and imagination. But the practical limitations of the MetaCube, plus possible copyright infringements, forced a rethink. The answer was to open up the MetaCube into its component parts, and so, after many trials, tribulations and much dogged determination, the 9 six-sided cubes that are Rory’s Story Cubes eventually came into being.”

When I finally met with Rory and Anita on the day of our arranged shoot I knew it was going to be a fun session.  They are two very charismatic hard-working individuals and I thoroughly enjoyed the shoot and THE CUBES!  They are so addictive and I have already purchased a set along with their new apple iphone storycubes app that can be found here.
